2002 JAZZ FEST ADMISSIONS POLICIES
- All persons, belongings and vehicles will be subject to search.
- On-site parking or unloading of passengers will no longer be available for
oversized vehicles such as RVs and charter buses.
Only bags and backpacks measuring 17"x12"x10" or smaller will be
allowed.
- Only 12-pack soft coolers or smaller will be allowed; no hard coolers, large
or small, including thermoses, will be allowed, whether carried or in vehicles.
Additional Prohibitions:
- No wagons, carts, pets, glass, personal tents, metal poles, shade canopies,
beach or pole-style umbrellas, blanket or ground tarps exceeding 6'x8', or athletic
games.
- No video or recording equipment.
- No weapons, illicit drugs, or other contraband.
- No unauthorized vending.
No outside beverages allowed whether carried or in vehicles.
Chairs/Open Seating Policy:
Small folding chairs are allowed. However, the Festival's open seating policy
at all stages is not compatible with the use of ropes, cords, tape, etc. to reserve
space. Movement throughout the Festival without impediment is essential to audience
flow and comfort. The Festival reserves the right to remove all obstructions that
are not in the spirit of this open seating policy.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION
Very limited on-site parking for cars will be available at Jazz Fest for $20.
Festival-goers are encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation, such
as public transportation, taxis, carpools, bicycles (limited free parking will
be available near the Gentilly Boulevard entrance-bicycles are not allowed on
the infield), and Jazz Fest Express, the bus service offered by New Orleans Tours
from Harrah's Casino, Tipitina's French Quarter, the Sheraton and Hyatt Regency
hotels, and Marconi Meadow in City Park for $10 round-trip. For Jazz Fest Express
